About the hotel

The Kayak Lodge is a locally-owned Bed & Breakfast with a commitment to caring for the natural environment.

Located beside a tropical mangrove forest, on Costa Rica’s central pacific coast, only 10 miles away from Manuel Antonio National Park.

The Lodge has 20 air conditioned rooms, free Wi-Fi, direct dial telephone, cable/satellite TV, private bathroom with hot water, outdoor pool and private parking.

All guests are welcome to use the kitchenette, located Adjacent to the main dining room.

“Mangrove Forest Kayak Tour” is an organized activity with the tides:

Daily guided kayak excursions through an exotic Mangrove Forest. Beginners welcome. Single and double kayaks available. Physical activity level is moderate. Duration 2 Hours.

Tour Description:

When the high tide fills the estuary, a tidal lake is created, allowing you to paddle through the flooded mangrove forest. We paddle at a relaxing pace so you can appreciate the beauty of this fascinating ecosystem while learning about its ecological importance. Wildlife encounters are frequent, and include several species of crabs,  bats, turtles, snails, iguanas, boa constrictors, silky ant eaters and white face monkeys. A large variety of birds call the mangrove home, including egrets and herons, warbler canaries, kingfishers, and  black hawks.

We provide: Safety equipment (lifejacket)  and mesh veils in case of trouble with flying insects.

What to Bring: Comfortable clothes, suntan lotion, mosquito repellent, water.

Schedule: Departure times change daily to follow the timing of the high tide.
