About the hotel
The Sunset Hotel is located in Monteverde -a lush and exotic area in the province of Puntarenas- on the way to the famous Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve.
Surrounded by primary forest, our Hotel prides itself in having one of the most spectacular sunsets in the Monteverde area, overlooking the Gulf of Nicoya
(Pacific Ocean).
There is a private trail around the hotel that is great for bird watching and where you can find huge strangler figs, a small banana plantation and a variety of different plants and insects. The walk takes about 45 min and over 33 species of birds have been spotted along this trail. Sloths and agutis may also be seen during the walk.
